This is an example of creating a brand message that incorporates the history and culture of a business. Created completely by me, this video captures the spirit of a large roofing company.
This is an example of creating a customer-facing video to encourage potential applicants to sign up. The video was written, directed, filmed, and edited solely by me.
This is the introductory video to get participants excited about the Live Session of Ride Fence the third installment of Leadership in Training. The idea was to draw the connection from the employees at Bone Dry to the cowboys of the Old West.
This is a short collection of the many videos I have written, directed, produced, and edited.
This short film was shot entirely on location at Carmel High School filming during the homeroom period that lasted sixty minutes every other day for about three weeks. Carmel High School theatre students were used for the cast and film students were used for the crew. Inspired by the over-the-top 'promposals' that were becoming popular, Jim Peterson wrote the script using the true stories of his high school students. Auditions were held in a costume storage closet by having the students tell a story of the wildest 'promposal' they had ever heard of, been a part of, or describe what they would do if they were to create a 'promposal'. Mr. Peterson liked the stories that the students told that many of them made the final film. The film was shot on a Nikon D7000. Jim Peterson edited the film using Final Cut Pro. The music was an original composition by a student who merely watched the film a few times, then played along for the final soundtrack. The film was submitted to and was featured in the Indianapolis International Film Festival in Indianapolis, the Indiana Short Film Festival in Avon, and the Wet Your Pants Comedy Film Festival in Indianapolis. These festivals were held in 2012 and 2013.
This short film was shot mostly on one day; the Monday over Presidents' Day weekend. Using Carmel High School students again, the film was shot with theatre students as the cast and film students as the crew. The one shot in the cafeteria using many extras was done the following day during the homeroom period, again using theatre students as the extras. Jim Peterson wrote the screenplay originally as a stage play but thought it would work better in a short film format. Using a student as a cinematographer and another as the editor, the film was directed and produced by Mr. Peterson. The budget for the film was used to by four pizzas and bite-size candy bars. The film was submitted to and accepted into the Gen Con Film Festival. Because the film was selected, we were awarded five, three-day passes to the Gen Con, the largest gaming convention in the world. Each pass was worth $75. The passes allowed the cast to see the premiere of the film during the convention at the festival. The category we premiered was called Short, Horror Comedy.
My entry into their Hot Box Cup Video Contest won me free breadsticks for a year!
Communication Screenplay
In addition to producing video, I am also a screenwriter and published playwright. Here are examples of my work. The first is a screenplay that I wrote to illustrate the issues companies can have with communication. It was the first in a six-part series.
